Purcell’s madrigal for four-part mixed voices. It is quite fast, so the lalas will do it three ways. The usual whole banana (tutti) version is at concert tempo, half-note = 92, presto. The versions in which one part is emphasized are recorded at 75, which is merely allegretto, and then there are four versions with one part only at 60 (moderato). The lalas do the repeat in all versions, which is just as well, because that’s the hardest section; you may as well sing it twice.
One last thing: you may wish to skip ahead to the con spiritu part at the top of page 5. It comes at 27 seconds, presto; 34 seconds, allegretto; and 43 seconds, moderato.
