The second piece in Ron Nelson’s Three Mountain Ballads. I’ll bet someone composed Will He Remember? sometime after the Civil War, but I’m sure it quickly found a place in the hearts of farm girls who got off by themselves, at the far end of the pasture, and softly sang it to the cows.
The Lalas do it tutti, and with SATB emphasized. The sopranos divide for four notes in measure 33,but I just put all that in one version. The tutti, soprano, and alto versions begin at measure six, two measures before the vocal parts begin. The tenor and bass parts begin at measure 19, one measure before the tenors come in.
