Dowdell’s setting of a text by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Four parts, with piano accompaniment. In addition, Linda has included an a cappella recording:
“And here’s a recording of the SATB a cappella version, one voice on each part, sung by Kiitos, an a cappella vocal quartet based in New York City in the “2000’s – they are no longer together.”
To complement the Ms Dowdell’s recordings, we had the Lala Singers do five additional ones: tutti and four with a single part emphasized. We did this because the biggest problem in learning the piece is not learning one’s part, but managing to sing it while hearing the other three parts. Everyone is doing something different! Besides, the Lala Singers were not about to pass up such an interesting piece.
